Last night's show was a Remembrance Sunday special. I enjoyed finding unexpected songs by Ian McCulloch, Passengers, and The Farm inspired by experiences of war. That's the traditional purpose of the Remembrance weekend. I also enjoyed finding songs that broadened out remembrance to those we have lost more widely. George Harrison, Olafur Arnalds and A Winged Victory For the Sullen. And having stumbled across a fuller account of Kirsty MacColl's demise I wanted that to be remembered too.
December is fast approaching. The plan is for a Christmas special on Christmas Eve, filled with songs that help you feel Christmassy, and less chat from me. In the run up to Christmas Eve I'll be featuring other songs about Christmas to help along the Christmas spirit. If there are any favourites you'd like featured, give me a shout.
